There are a lot of stereotypes about developers – crazy geeks working at night, drinking litres of coffee and not stopping coding even after work. Do you agree? We decided to find the truth, and asked our developers in Liki, how their ordinary working day looks like. So, here’s what we got:
Our developers are early birds – they mostly wake up between 6 – 7 am on working days. The vast majority of them uses their own car to get to work, however, there are also those who use a bicycle, public transport or simply walk. However, not every day, since 77% of developers noted that sometimes they stay at home and work remotely.
An average coffee drinker in our office consumes 2 cups of coffee per day, however, there are 23% of employees that don’t drink coffee at all. What about leisure time? Our developers do many things, among which, sports, “Netflix and chill”, socializing with friends and colleagues, or simply surfing the net. However, they also admitted that sometimes they have to continue working at home to finish urgent tasks. 78% of our team members may work at night, mainly in exceptional cases, and 21% of them noted that they are most productive during this time. Other 35% noted that their productivity increases when working from home, while 28% are most efficient in the office.
As you can well see, not all the stereotypes about developers are true. At least, our team proves some of them to be wrong, but despite all habits and working styles, we admire our development team for their valuable input and creative minds.
